Introduce kids to robotics with the Build a Bot line of build-your-own robot kits. With the Build a Bot Fox kit, kids use more than 20 pieces to build a fox. The pieces easily click together, and you can even customize the look of your fox using the eye and decorative stickers. There's even a certificate for kids to fill out upon completing their robotic pet.
As kids build, they'll read about important engineering concepts, such as motors, levers, and magnets, and how they work.
Once built, kids can bring their fox to life. Lift up on the fox's tail to make the fox hop forward nine times. Or hold the included bone accessory up to the fox's mouth to make the fox hop forward five times.
This is an easy-to-construct robotics kit that introduces young kids to some STEM concepts in a hands-on way. The fox is really cute, and kids will like making it hop around as they interact and play with it. Plus, its translucent body means that kids can see how the fox's inner mechanisms work when the fox is in motion.
Build a Bot Fox is for ages 5 and up. Kids between the ages of 5 and 7 might need help from an adult, while kids ages 8 and up will be able to complete this kit on their own. Any kid with an interest in construction toys and electronic pets will have fun building and playing with this toy.
It took us 10 minutes to build our fox, and the instructions were easy to follow.
Additional Build a Bot kits include Bunny and Dino, sold separately. All of the parts can be mixed and matched to build your own unique bot.
