OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is

The Mickey and the Roadster Racers Racing Adventures Mickey from Just Play was inspired by the Disney Junior animated preschool series. This interactive 15-inch plush Mickey Mouse doll comes with a racing flag, and a car, and offers two ways to play. Dressed in his racing gear, he talks, moves, makes racing sounds, and plays the Mickey and the Roadster Racers theme song. Mickey can drive around in his racecar or encourage kids to have their own race with a game of capture the flag. For car racing mode, bend Mickey's legs into a seated position, place him feet first in his car, and then push him into the seat until you hear a click. Tap Mickey's helmet to watch him drive around and do a figure eight. Tap it again and he'll show off some 360 degree spins. Tap it a third time to stop. For Race to the Flag mode, Mickey must be in standing position with the flag in his right hand. He'll encourage kids to get started but you'll have to tap his light up helmet to start the race. Kids can play solo or with friends, and line up as far or as close as they decide. Listen for beeps, which will get faster as it gets closer to race time. When you hear "Get ready, Get set, Go!", run towards Mickey to try to be the first racer to grab the flag. Mickey will celebrate the winner with a victory dance.

Is It Fun?

This is a really fun toy for fans of the Disney Junior series. It's cute, and well made, and we love how it gets kids moving, along with Mickey.  With two ways to play, it offers kids some variety in how they interact with Mickey.

Who It’s For

This interactive 15-inch plush Mickey Mouse doll is for Mickey and the Roadster Racers fans ages 3 and up. Parents may need to help some 3 year olds, as they might find it difficult to activate on their own.

What To Be Aware Of

The Mickey and the Roadster Racers Racing Adventures Mickey offers two ways to play. Mickey can drive around in his racecar or encourage kids to have their own race with a game of capture the flag. For car racing mode, bend Mickey's legs into a seated position, place him feet first in his car, and then push him into the seat until you hear a click. Tap Mickey's helmet to activate the driving. He covers a pretty large area with his car so this is best played with on a large, flat surface area. For Race to the Flag mode, Mickey must be in standing position with the flag in his right hand. He'll encourage kids to get started but you'll have to tap his light up helmet to start the race. Some adult assistance may be needed as some 3 year olds might find it difficult to activate on their own. Four AA batteries are included but those are for demo purposes and should be replaced for best results. Mickey comes in Try Me mode so be sure to switch to ON on the bottom of Mickey's right foot.
