Kids can pamper themselves in the tub with the Alex Spa DIY Bath Bombs kit..and one of the hot trends in bath products and skin care. Using just a few ingredients, including Epsom Salt and fragrance, kids can create six fizzy bath bombs to turn bath time into spa time. Doing homework is hard work, after all!
This comes with almost all of the ingredients kids need to make circular or heart-shaped bath bombs. You will need to provide your own cooking oil, such as vegetable, canola, or almond. And you will need several bowls.
Just mix the baking soda, cornstarch, and Epsom Salt together in a bowl. Then, use the measuring spoon to add in water, fragrance, and cooking oil. Once that's stirred together, add in a packet of the succinic acid. Then, divide the powder into separate bowls so you can make different colors using the included food coloring.
Fill both sides of a mold with powder. You can do all one color or mix and match the colors to create a bath bomb with colored layers. Press both sides of the molds together to stick both sections of powder into one bath bomb. Remove the bomb from the mold and let dry for 24 hours.
Once dry, drop your bath bomb into the bath and watch it fizz, releasing a yummy scent and transporting you into relaxation mode.
These bath bombs are pretty easy to make, although it can be difficult to get the powder to stick together in the mold on the first try. And if you're trying to do colorful layers, those can then get messed up. But, you don't really have to worry about what the finished product looks like because it's going to fizz up and disintegrate in your warm bath water anyway.
For kids who want to have a spa day experience at home, these bath bombs are a nice way to do it. They get nice and fizzy in the water, they smell good, and kids will like that they've made the bath bombs themselves. These would also be fun to package up and give to friends.
The kit comes with a heart shape mold, a ball shape mold, two packets of baking soda, two packets of cornstarch, two packets of Epsom salt, two packets of succinic acid, three bottles of food coloring, strawberry fragrance, vanilla fragrance, a measuring spoon, a stir stick, and instructions.
You will also need cooking oil and bowls.
