If itís the holiday season, then itís time for Barbie to pick out her holiday dress. Continuing a tradition that started in 1988, the 2017 Holiday Barbie dolls are here, and it looks like the holiday party circuit will be red hot. There are three dolls in this yearís collection, each with a different skin tone, hairstyle, facial sculpt, and pose.
The Hispanic doll wears part of her brown hair up in a top knot, with the rest curling down her back. She wears the same gown as the other dolls: a shimmery long red gown with halter top neckline, gathering at the waist, and a center slit in the skirt to show off the dollís strappy gold heels and painted red toe nails. The doll even has a manicure to match. She accessorizes with long gold earrings.
But when youíre Barbie and itís the holidays, you have to go big. Thatís why there is a large ornamental star with red gemstones attached to the back of the dress. This is supposed to represent the yearís joyful moments that became sparkling memories. The star can be removed.
The 2017 Holiday Barbie comes with a doll stand and a certificate of authenticity.
Itís always exciting to see what dress design Mattel will come up with for its Holiday Barbies every year. And we think the design of this yearís dress is stunning. From the tiniest details of the dollís makeup to the large star accessory, this themed doll has glamour with just the right amount of pizzazz to make a bold statement this holiday season. Itís definitely going to be an in-demand doll from collectors, and it would also make a wonderful holiday gift and way to start a Barbie collection for younger fans.
The 2017 Holiday Barbies are for ages 6 and up, and are part of the Pink Label collection, which means that these dolls are like a first collectible Barbie doll for young fans. Unlike a 6-year-oldís other Barbie dolls, these are really meant more for display than play. And thatís why many adult collectors will want to add one or all three of these gorgeous dolls to their collections, keeping them inside the box for display.
The 2017 Caucasian and African-American Holiday Barbie dolls are sold separately. Though they each wear the same red dress with gold star accent, each doll features a different skin tone, facial sculpt, hairstyle, and pose to make them different enough that collectors may want to collect all three.
The ornamental star measures eight inches by eight inches.
