Magic Hat Review (Thames & Kosmos)

Magic Hat
What It Is

Keep your audience guessing when you perform the magic tricks in the Magic Hat kit. This comes with 44 props and instructions for how to perform 35 magic tricks, including magic hat tricks, magic ball tricks, coin box tricks, x-ray box tricks, magic wand tricks, magic ring tricks, rope tricks, dice tube tricks, simple card tricks, and magical rabbit tricks. There are a few supplies you'll need to provide from home, such as a deck of cards, a piece of paper, and scissors. But the required materials will all be listed for you at the beginning of each magic trick.

Is It Fun?

This makes a nice beginner magic set for any kid with an interest in performing magic or just wondering how magic tricks work. The instructions have written directions and pictures, and we think they're pretty easy for kids to follow. Of course, part of doing magic is practicing, so just because you have this kit doesn't mean you're going to be the next Michael Carbonaro. For kids who have the patience to practice the magic tricks until they can fully control them, one of the three golden rules of magic, this will be a lot of fun.
