OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is
Tackle your next secret mission with the Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Mid-Range FRS Walkie Talkies from eKids. These battery-powered walkie-talkies are given the Marvel treatment.

The Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 walkies are molded and shaped like the heads of two fan-favorite Guardian besties: Rocket Raccoon and Groot. Each features a switch on its back to power on and the speaker to talk into is located on the base of each walkie. Each also features a flexible antenna and simple push-to-talk button.

Like any set of walkie-talkies, messages can only be heard when both walkies are turned on and only one person is holding down the talk button. It tends to work best if you don't press the speaker right against your face, and instead hold it slightly away, about two inches.

Is It Fun?
Kids will have fun roleplaying as Rocket and Groot with these walkie talkies as well as pretending to go on top-secret Guardians missions to save and protect the galaxy from evil doers. But roleplaying with walkie talkies is only fun if they work, and these do! The sound quality comes through crystal clear to about 30 feet before we started to lose reception.
Who It’s For
The Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Mid-Range FRS Walkie Talkies from eKids are for ages 3 and up. They will appeal to Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy fans, and especially fans of Rocket and Groot. The shape of the walkies encourages kids to roleplay as the characters, while still tapping into the basic fun of talking to your friends at a long distance range.
What To Be Aware Of
The Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 mid-range walkies require eight button cell batteries, which are included.

These walkies don't specify the actual distance that defines mid-range. Marvel Spider-Man Homecoming Long-Range FRS Walkie Talkies are also available and sold separately. Click here for more Guardians of the Galaxy toy reviews.
