SpaceSaver High Chair Light Grey Teal White Review (Fisher-Price)

SpaceSaver High Chair Light Grey Teal White
What It Is

Mealtime with baby is going to be messy, but it doesn't have to take up a lot of space. That's because there's the SpaceSaver High Chair, a staple part of Fisher-Price's baby gear lineup. And now it's available in several new designs to fit with any design-conscious parent's home décor. One has a design of triangles in white, yellow, teal, gray, and coral. Another has a hexagon pattern in gray, blue, and green. And a third has a pattern of half circles in soft blues and grays. Each is sold separately.

As the name suggests, the SpaceSaver High Chair saves space. The one we measured was about 20 inches tall and 20 inches wide. This high chair doesn't go on the floor; instead it attaches to a dining room chair using adjustable bottom straps that go around the chair's seat and adjustable back straps that go around the chair's seatback. A child sits securely in the SpaceSaver High Chair with an adjustable five-point safety harness.

But the straps and harness aren't the only things adjustable. There are two height settings on the SpaceSaver High Chair and three recline positions. Both of these adjustable features allows the SpaceSaver High Chair to grow with a baby from birth to toddler years.

Other nice features include a soft and machine-washable seat pad, a dishwasher-safe tray that can be removed with one hand, a cup holder on the tray, and a Fastfinder link on the tray for attaching toys, bibs, towels, or teethers.

Why Is It Useful?

The SpaceSaver High Chair is a must-have baby product because it works! It's easy to use and adjust to the size of your child, even as your child grows. It's ideal for families with limited space in their kitchens or dining rooms, and for parents who just don't want their homes cluttered with large pieces of baby gear. This high chair offers both sets of parents with the same great features of a full-size high chair but at half the size. Plus, design-conscious parents will like that the seat pad designs are not baby-ish but instead something that you wouldn't mind keeping out in your dining room.

And the SpaceSaver High Chair is a great choice to keep at grandma and grandpa's house for all those date night babysitting gigs. It's easy for grandparents to store away when not in use, and it keeps parents from having to transport a high chair seat every time they visit.

Who It’s For

The SpaceSaver High Chair can be used with newborn babies all the way up to toddlers. It has a maximum weight limit of 50 pounds. Only use the chair in an upright position with a baby who has enough upper body control to sit up unassisted.

Because of its small footprint, this high chair makes a nice option for families who don't have a lot of extra room for big, bulky baby gear. We also like it as a high chair to keep at grandma and grandpa's house because it's small enough for them to store it when not in use, and it means parents don't have to worry about bringing a portable high chair when visiting.

What To Be Aware Of

You'll need a Phillips screwdriver to assemble the high chair, but assembly is easy to do.

When attaching to an adult chair, make sure the chair seat is level and larger than the seat base. Also check that the floor surface beneath the chair is level.

To clean the seat, seat back, and seat attachment straps, wipe them with a mild cleaning solution and damp cloth. The seat pad and restraint system are machine washable, but make sure you follow the washing instructions in the instruction manual. The tray can be washed with soap and water, or you can place it in the dishwasher on the top rack. You can also put it on the bottom rack of the dishwasher, but you won't be able to use the drying cycle.
