LEGO Architecture Chicago Review (LEGO)

LEGO Architecture Chicago
What It Is
Celebrate some of the most iconic aspects of the Windy City with the LEGO Architecture Chicago construction set, model number 21033. This comes with 444 pieces for building the Chicago skyline, complete with the Willis Tower, John Hancock Center, Cloud Gate, DuSable Bridge, Wrigley Building, and the Big Red. The Chicago River is represented in the tiled baseplate, and the DuSable Bridge really opens and closes. All of the models are built on a 4 x 32 tiled base with a decorative “Chicago” nameplate. The included instruction booklet offers pictures and historical information about the city of Chicago and each landmark.
Is It Fun?

LEGO fans who live in Chicago, list Chicago as one of their favorite cities, or just appreciate design will really like that this LEGO set shows off some of the city's great landmarks. It's a wonderful tribute to a city that really does have some excellent architecture. The instruction booklet is full of information and photographs about each landmark and the city in general, and we think that will be a lot of fun for older fans to read through, but there's a lot there for even younger LEGO builders to read and discover.

However, we do wish that Cloud Gate, or “the bean” as everyone calls it, was shaped a little more like the actual structure. But at such a small scale, LEGO did a decent job.

Who It’s For
The LEGO Architecture Chicago set is for ages 12 and up. That's because this is really more of a collector's item for LEGO fans who are interested in architecture and the designs of Chicago's buildings. But it could be a nice family activity, especially for a family planning a trip to Chicago.
What To Be Aware Of
