OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is

Battle the blaze wherever you are with the LEGO Juniors Fire Patrol Suitcase, model number 10740, a 110-piece construction set that comes packaged up in a portable suitcase. Open it up to reveal the pieces and start building a fire pickup with adjustable cherry picker, a motorcycle, and a small abandoned house with opening door. The set even comes with two firefighter minifigures wearing oxygen tanks.

The fire pickup has a rear storage compartment for holding the accessories, including an axe, a handsaw, and two fire extinguishers. Attach the trailer to the fire pickup to easily bring the cherry picker and hose with translucent water element over to the burning house. Push the translucent orange flame piece through the house’s door to create a spreading fire effect. Or knock the flame back down the other way to signify that the fire has been put out.

Kids can take apart all the pieces, put them back in the suitcase, and take the fun along with them wherever they go.

Is It Fun?
This construction set will be ideal for kids who are in between playing with LEGO Duplo and regular LEGO sets. The models are designed to be easier to build with bigger pieces and a simple instruction guide to quickly get kids building and playing. The set has nice moving pieces and action elements that let young kids play out a fire rescue scene, which will be a lot of fun for kids who like fire trucks. This construction set is a nice next step for a child who likes building with LEGO.
Who It’s For
The LEGO Juniors Fire Patrol Suitcase is for ages 4–7. This construction set is ideal for kids who are too old for LEGO Duplo but not yet ready for the more challenging builds of regular LEGO models.
What To Be Aware Of
It took TTPM’s Master Builder 15 minutes to assemble this set, and the instructions were easy to follow. But depending on the age and skill level of the builder, it could take longer to assemble. Luckily, that’s all part of the fun of LEGO!
