Turn your floor or backyard into a giant game board with Twist Time Word Scramble. This turns a classic word game into a colossal word game where the object is to make words out of the letter tiles you've got.
Each player receives a tile holder and then randomly draws seven of the large, water-resistant letter tiles from the storage bag. The first player combines two or more letters to form a word either across or down, like in a crossword puzzle. Each of the letter tiles has a number on it that tells you how many points you'll score for playing that letter. Once the first player has scored, the next player creates a new word in the same game space, building on the word already played. That player will receive points for all new or modified words on his turn.
There are special tiles that players can play along with their letters, such as a Wild tile that acts as any letter but scores zero points, a Double Letter Score tile that automatically doubles whatever the point value is of the letter on which it's played, and a Double Word Score tile that doubles the value of the entire word played.
After playing a word, a player draws new letter tiles until he once again has seven in his holder. Once all the letters run out, the game is over when one player uses up his last letter tile. Everyone else must count the points remaining in their tile holders and subtract that number from their overall score. The player with the most points wins.
All of the game pieces can be stored inside the storage bag.
Traditionally, word games are played around a table with players remaining pretty stationary. But this game aims to change things up, getting players moving around to play their letters and bringing the fun of the game to different settings: a living room floor or grassy backyard, for instance. And it's easy to take with you wherever you go thanks to the storage bag, so you could even play the game at grandma's house or on a hotel room floor, if your hotel room is big enough.
If you're a fan of word games such as Scrabble, Upwords, and Bananagrams, then we think your whole family will enjoy this giant word scramble.
The game comes with four tile holders, a storage bag, and 110 water-resistant letter tiles.
This game is available exclusively at Target.
