DC Comics Multiverse The Batgirl of Burnside Batgirl Review (Mattel)

DC Comics Multiverse The Batgirl of Burnside Batgirl
What It Is
The Batgirl of Burnside is a 4-inch action figure based on the character from the DC Multiverse comic of the same name. It features Barbara Gordon in her full Batgirl outfit. In the story, after a devastating fire, Barbara moves to the hip area of Gotham City known as Burnside and starts a new life and finds a whole new set of criminals to take on as she protects her young friends. The outfit and the image on the character are drawn directly from the first issue of the comic series, and it has a much younger look than many of the traditional DC comics. The bright colors and younger face are a significant difference from how Batgirl has been seen in the past.
Is It Fun?
The figure is designed for fans of the comic series, rather than as a traditional toy, though it can certainly be used that way. The great detailing and decoration make it a nice addition to a collection that is primarily for display.
Who It’s For
The package says that this is for kids ages 5 and up, but it will most appeal to fans of the comic series. The story is less dark than others in the DC Multiverse collections, but it still is for slightly more sophisticated fans.
What To Be Aware Of
The figure does not stand on its own.

Each of the six figures in this line comes with a large piece that is part of the Shark King large figure. If you buy all six figures, you can create the large action figure. Once you put the Shark King pieces together, do not remove them; the figure can only be assembled once.
