Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Rock N' Roll Groot Review (Jakks Pacific)

Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Rock N' Roll Groot
What It Is

If you saw the first Guardians of the Galaxy, you'll probably remember that the limited vocabulary character, Groot, ended the movie looking much different, and younger, than he… or it, began the movie. Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 2 reintroduces us to the character, Groot, and picks up where the character ended the first movie.

The Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 2 - XPV RC Rock N' Roll Groot, from Jakks Pacific, is a toy version of Baby Groot, as he appears in the second Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy movie. Like the popular character in the movie, this Groot likes to groove, and the toy will dance when he hears music. There is also an included remote control so you can make Groot move without music. The remote control, which looks like a 1980's era mixtape, has two buttons that cause Groot to spin in different directions, either clockwise or counterclockwise. Groot plays the song, Flashlight, while being controlled by the remote. The faster he spins, the more he gets into it, until he and his bowl are spinning like a top.

Is It Fun?
Like the Baby Groot character in the Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 movie, this R/C version is very cute, and we think people will get a kick out of watching him as he spins around. Controlling Groot gives you a more interactive experience because you decide which way, and how fast he spins.

Making the R/C look like a familiar prop from the movie is a clever bonus that we think fans will really like.

Who It’s For

Rock N' Roll Groot is for fans of the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, ages 4 and up. The simple controls make it easy for young kids to master. Fans of all ages will also like having this cute Groot on display on a shelf or desk.

What To Be Aware Of

When Groot spins, his bowl lights up.

Groot requires six “AA” to run. Four of those batteries are for the Groot and bowl unit, and those four are included for the “Try Me” package. That means they might need to be replaced after you buy the toy. The second two “AA” batteries are for the remote control, and they are not included.
