LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters Review (LEGO)

LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters
What It Is

Help bust some ghosts with the classic Ghostbusters when you build the LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters construction set, model number 75827. This comes with 4,634 pieces for building a three-story firehouse based on the original 1984 Ghostbusters movie. Not only do you build the firehouse, but you can also open it up to reveal a highly detailed interior with a science lab and game room on the top floor, a kitchen and bedroom on the second floor, and the Ghostbusters front office with containment unit on the bottom floor. There is also a dark room, a bathroom, and a firepole for sliding down to the garage bay with lockers for Spengler, Stantz, and Venkman that store their proton packs. You can even fit the LEGO Ideas Ghostbusters Ecto-1, sold separately, inside.

The exterior of the building also has some cool features, such as flying ghost accessories, a stoplight, slime oozing up through the pavement, and fire escape ladders.

Plus, the set comes with nine minifigures of Peter Venkman, Raymond Stantz, Egon Spengler, Winston Zeddemore, Janine Melnitz, Dana Barrett, Louis Tully, a zombie driver, and the library ghost, which can go from old lady to scary ghost thanks to its double-sided face and extra wig. And Louis has an extra head for running lab tests to see if he's possessed. And actually, with the exception of the zombie driver, all of the minifigure heads have two faces.

Slimer, a blue ghost, and a pink ghost are also included.

The instruction booklet also includes pictures and information about the movie.

Is It Fun?

This set is going to be a must-have for LEGO and Ghostbusters fans. It looks really cool and has a lot of fun features, whether a builder chooses to keep it on display or play out ghost-busting adventures with it. Fans will like that it comes with minifigures of all the main characters from the movie, so they can have fun playing out the movie's plot. There are a lot of pieces, so you'll need to set aside some time and have a lot of patience to complete it, but once it's built, this is a fantastic set with a lot for Ghostbusters fans to appreciate.

Who It’s For

The LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters is for ages 16 and up. This is largely due to the fact that the construction set has so many pieces and is rather expensive. It's going to be more for older LEGO and Ghostbusters fans who want to build and add something really cool to their Ghostbusters collections. Once built, maybe a younger fan would be allowed to play with it because there are so many fun accessories and moving pieces that lend itself to imaginative play.

What To Be Aware Of

The instructions are very easy to follow, but this is going to take you awhile to build because of the vast amount of pieces. It took TTPM's Master Builder eight hours to build.

Along with the instructions, the instruction booklet includes pictures from the Ghostbusters movie and information about the movie, making this a nice collector's item for fans.
