Yo-Kai Watch 2: Fleshy Souls Review (Nintendo)

Yo-Kai Watch 2: Fleshy Souls
What It Is

Yo-Kai Watch, the video game series, returns with a sequel to the first game, and this time the game is getting two versions that tell the latest Yo-Kai story line.  Yo-Kai Watch 2: Fleshy Souls and Yo-Kai Watch 2: Bony Spirits, from from Nintendo, are two separate games, however they are basically the same game, just slightly different versions. The two game versions of Yo-Kai Watch 2 are similar to the way that the Pokemon games for Nintendo handheld systems are released. The only real difference between these two games is that they each contain some Yo-Kai creatures that the other version does not.

Yo-Kai Watch 2: Fleshy Souls' story begins with a typical day for the in-game playable character until the player discovers a new, and strange shop. That discovery leads to the player obtaining the Yo-Kai watch. This interesting watch is a bridge between the human world and the Yo-Kai, which are creatures that live in the human's world, but are invisible. The Yo-Kai watch allows players to see the Yo-Kai that are hidden all over the Fleshy Souls city. Players will explore the city, and surrounding areas, in a mission oriented game that tells the Yo-Kai story. While on missions, players find Yo-Kai creatures, and battle them using their own collected Yo-Kai. If the player wins the battle, they will add that Yo-Kai creature to their collection and future fighting team.

Is It Fun?
Anyone who has not played the first Yo-Kai Watch game, might think that Yo-Kai Watch 2: Fleshy Souls sounds very similar to the Pokemon handheld games. The basic play-pattern is similar to Pokemon, however, there are several differences that make Yo-Kai Watch 2: Fleshy Souls different and fun. One of which is the game's large expansive city map, which provides numerous buildings and areas to explore. The battles are also different, because they are faster, and a bit more simple than Pokemon battles.
Who It’s For
Yo-Kai Watch 2: Fleshy Souls is rated E 10+ for the fantasy violence and comic mischief, which are both equal to the content of most 3DS games. Yo-Kai Watch 2: Fleshy Souls is great for anyone that played and enjoyed the first Yo-Kai Watch game. Fans of the Yo-Kai Watch animated series, that like Pokemon games, will probably also like Yo-Kai Watch 2: Fleshy Souls.
