Yo-Kai Watch 2: Bony Spirits Review (Nintendo)

Yo-Kai Watch 2: Bony Spirits
What It Is

The Yo-Kai Watch video game is back with a sequel to the first game, that has been split into two versions. Yo-Kai Watch 2: Bony Spirits and Yo-Kai Watch 2: Fleshy Souls, both from from Nintendo, are two separate games, however they are basically the same game, just slightly different versions. The two game versions of Yo-Kai Watch 2 are similar to the way that the Pokemon games for Nintendo handheld systems are released. The only real difference between these two games is that they each contain some Yo-Kai creatures that the other version does not.

The Yo-Kai Watch 2: Bony Spirits game's story starts with an average day until the player discovers a new, mysterious store, that leads to obtaining the Yo-Kai watch. This interesting watch is a bridge between humans and the Yo-Kai, which are supernatural creatures that live in the world, but are invisible to most humans. The watch allows players, to see the Yo-Kai that are scattered throughout the Bony Spirits city. Players will explore the city, and surrounding area, in a story-based, mission oriented game. While on missions, players find Yo-Kai creatures, and battle them using their own collected Yo-Kai. Win the battle, and add a new Yo-Kai to your collection.

Is It Fun?
If you are unfamiliar with the Yo-Kai games, this probably sounds a lot like Pokemon - and the basic play-pattern is very similar. However, there are a lot of differences that make Yo-Kai Watch 2: Bony Spirits different and fun. For starters, the game's large expansive city map provides numerous buildings and areas to explore. The battles are also different, because they are faster, and a bit more simple than Pokemon battles.
Who It’s For
Yo-Kai Watch 2: Bony Spirits is rated E 10+ for the comic mischief and fantasy violence, which are both on a par with the content of most 3DS games. Yo-Kai Watch 2: Bony Spirits is great for anyone that played and enjoyed the first Yo-Kai Watch game. Fans of the Yo-Kai Watch animated series, that like Pokemon games, will probably also like Yo-Kai Watch 2: Bony Spirits.
