The Kurio Watch is a full-featured smartwatch designed for kids that has a suggested retail price of about only $60. You'll see in a moment why that's so great. It's got a 1.54-inch touchscreen that delivers 240 x 240 pixels. We were actually impressed by the resolution. The touchscreen is very responsive, more so than other comparable products that we've tried out. It comes with 128 megabytes of available storage, but it also has a slot for MicroSD cards. This is good if you're going to take lots of pictures. Unlike some grown-up smartwatches, this has a camera for still photos and videos, and, it's not bad. You can even add some edits to your pictures. It comes with Bluetooth 3.0, which allows you to connect to another Kurio Watch or an Andriod device, and, it's got a built-in speaker and microphone.
We found the charge was good for all-day but be sure to turn off the Bluetooth when not using it to maximize battery life. There's also an I.C.E. app in it so parents can load emergency information, just in case. Also significant is what's NOT here. There's no browser, so there's no worry about internet access for kids. The construction is super sturdy and kids will be able to customize it with different watch faces and themes to match their mood, including themes inspired by Transformers and Littlest Pet Shop.
