Call of Duty Dragonfly Drone Review (DGL Toys)

Call of Duty Dragonfly Drone
What It Is

The Call of Duty Dragonfly Drone is an excellent drone for pilots with varying skill levels. There is a bit of a learning curve, but we were impressed with what we were able to do after a few hours, and each success prompted us to want to play more. It's got the Call of Duty military-style decoration, but you don't need to be a fan of the game to get a lot out of this value-priced drone. It's a quiet, well-made quadcopter that you connect to your phone for photos and videos. It's easier to fly and learn to fly than many of the other drones on the market, some of which cost a lot more. The auto takeoff and landing function help out with that. Push a button and it lifts off.

As you learn, you'll want to pay attention to trimming the flight so it flies correctly, but the difference on this drone is that this drone really works. The secret to the success is inside. The drone uses a six-axis gyroscope to make controlling your UAV-quad drone easy. It has three variable speeds so that you can challenge yourself as you become more adept at flying. The remote control for the drone lets you control all the operations easy with all of the buttons in reach. Plus, all the buttons are either specifically labeled or have an easy to remember icon. If you lose sight of the quad drone while flying, press the one-key return button and it'll automatically come back to the remote. You can also use this indoors or outdoors, plus, as you get better, you can even do some cool stunts and create and orbit around an object to get great photos or video. The drone connects to your smartphone via it's own Wi-Fi network, and that's a huge advantage. We found the network to be very stable in play, and easy to use.

Is It Fun?
This drone is a lot of fun even without the video and you'll want to keep the case on your phone when you put it in the holder on the remote. The only concern we had was that it was not quite tight enough. One really important thing: this well-designed drone is super durable. As with any drone, the mishaps in learning to fly this were dramatic. We banged it into walls and lost it behind desks, and we didn't even bend a propeller. The one thing we couldn't control was the wind. We got this flying outdoors and it was amazing, but as it went higher and higher, a strong wind took it and now our first drone is sitting on top of a building in New York City. If you take this outdoors be sure to have it in a wide open space.
