Jonathan Adler Deluxe Rock 'n Play Sleeper Review (Fisher-Price)

Jonathan Adler Deluxe Rock 'n Play Sleeper
What It Is

Fisher-Price's Deluxe Rock 'n Play Sleeper has been a staple in many nurseries, but now it's getting a stylish upgrade thanks to new Fisher-Price creative director and designer Jonathan Adler. With the Jonathan Adler Deluxe Rock 'n Play Sleeper, new parents get form, function, and style.

This is actually a two-in-one product. You can use it a sleeper or as a playtime seat. The seat itself has a soft, removable black-and-white patterned fabric cover with mesh sides and an extra plush newborn insert. It has a safety harness with a linkable clacker toy in the shape of an orange giraffe with yellow and green rings around its neck. Plug the sleeper into a wall outlet to access its many features. There is a control panel on the bottom of the sleeper that lets parents choose from different soothing sounds and music options, turn on or off vibration in the seat, and choose two rocking speeds. Parents can also control the volume of the sounds and music from the control panel.

Or download the free Fisher-Price Smart Connect app on your iOS or Android device to control the rocking speed, choose from four vibration modes, turn on music or three sound effects, control the volume, set how long you want the music and motion to remain on, and even save your preferred settings so you can easily start it up with just a push of a button. And because you're doing this within the app, you can control this sleeper from anywhere in the house without disturbing your baby.

The sleeper also folds up for easy storage and portability.

Why Is It Useful?
This may be a dual-purpose item as a sleeper and playtime seat, but it also serves dual purposes as a functional piece of baby gear that actually looks like something parents won't mind keeping out in their bedrooms or living rooms. For baby, the soft seat, calming vibrations, and gentle rocking motion will help soothe baby to sleep and become part of a nap and bedtime routine, while the fabric, music, and motion will also stimulate a baby's senses. It's also convenient for parents because you don't have to worry about batteries to power it, you can control it with an app, and it's easy to fold up. And did we mention it looks very modern? This is going to be perfect for design-conscious parents who are looking for baby gear that isn't so, well, baby-ish.
Who It’s For
The Jonathan Adler Deluxe Rock 'n Play Sleeper is for babies from birth until the baby is able to roll over or pull up on sides, whichever comes first. The design of this sleeper will primarily appeal to parents who want to bring baby products into their home that easily fit in with the home's décor. The black-and-white patterned fabric is a nice neutral and the teal around the padded support adds a nice pop of color.
