OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is
The LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Doctor Strange's Sanctum Santorum is chock full of amazing details that inspires hours of imaginative play. One of Marvel's most powerful sorcerers, Doctor Strange takes center stage, levitating in his magic cape as he encounters his arch nemesis Karl Mordo and The Ancient One. An interactive environment in a rotating portal beast and Doctor Strange's Cloak of Levitation means that this isn't one of the playsets you'd want to put on the shelf (but you still could). Included in this 358-piece set are three minifigures (Karl Mordo, The Ancient One, and Doctor Strange himself). The portal beast features rotating teeth, eyes, and tentacles that can be activated by a crank and can trap minifigures.
Is It Fun?

Children will soon find out why Doctor Strange is one of the most underrated characters in the Marvel Universe. A neurosurgeon turned Sorcerer Supreme, Dr. Stephen Vincent Strange is the primary protector of Earth against magical and mystical threats. With his knowledge of powerful spells, Strange is a force to be reckoned with.

The imaginative play that will encompass kids (and sometimes adults) is unlimited. From recreating scenes from the movies, comics, or even their own made up stories involving Strange rescuing The Ancient One from the nefarious Baron Mordo and his portal beast, they'll have lots of fun building and playing as the days turn to nights.

Who It’s For

The LEGO-ized version of Doctor Strange's lair is appropriate for children ages 7 and up. Fans of the Doctor Strange comics and movie will love the cool and slightly humorous, yet detailed look of the included minifigures. LEGO collectors (especially those who love the Marvel Super Heroes brand) may also see a necessity to add this kit to the collection.

What To Be Aware Of
The completed 358-piece Sanctum Santorum measures over four-inches high, a foot wide, and seven-inches deep and also includes LEGO's easy-to-follow, detailed instructions. Accessory pieces include Doctor Strange's Cloak of Levitation, magical power artifacts, elements with eldritch calligraphy markings, and weapons. There's also shelves to put the accessories on to help decorate the LEGO Sanctorum. The playset also features levitation effects for two minifigures and the good Doctor's cloak.
