Nerf Rival Atlas XVI-1200 Team Red Review (Hasbro)

Nerf Rival Atlas XVI-1200 Team Red
What It Is

The Nerf Rival line of blasters expands for even more firepower with the Nerf Rival Atlas XVI-1200 Team Red and Team Blue blasters, sold separately. This Nerf line is all about a battle between Team Red and Team Blue, hence the two different colors of blasters, but the blasters use foam balls instead of darts and feature very accurate shooting, ideal for the older blaster enthusiast.

With the Atlas XVI-1200 blasters, you can fire two foam balls at once. Each pump-action blaster features a 12-round capacity magazine and comes with 24 foam balls. Plus, there's an ambidextrous magazine release to make it easy for left-handed and right-handed users, a trigger lock for safety, an iron sight to line up your shots, and a Nerf Tactical Rail so that other accessories, sold separately, can be attached.

To use the blaster, load the magazine and slide the magazine into the blaster until it locks into place. Then press the trigger lock to unlock the trigger. Move the pump handle all the way back and all the way forward to ready the blaster. You'll see that a ready indicator will appear to let you know that the blaster is ready to fire. It won't fire if the ready indicator is not visible. When you and the blaster are ready to fire, take aim and pull the trigger. Move the pump back and forward again, and then pull the trigger to fire another shot.

Is It Fun?
Whereas traditional Nerf blasters are all about getting good distance, the play with Nerf Rival is sort of like paintball where you're trying to hit your opponents with the balls. This offers lots of competitive fun and will get kids and adults running all over the backyard. And the Atlas XVI-1200 blaster gives players double the chance to hit their opponents from just one shot with its dual-firing action.
Who It’s For
The Nerf Rival Atlas XVI-1200 Team Red is for ages 14 and up. Younger kids may enjoy this as well, but because the competition is all about blasting one another, it may not be appropriate for younger kids.
What To Be Aware Of

We thought it was difficult to pump the handle back and forth. You really have to pull the handle back all the way in order to get it to then go back forward. It took us a few tries to get the hang of doing it, and we suspect that kids will also experience the same frustration.

These blasters are for use with Nerf Rival products only.

It's recommended that you wear Nerf Rival face masks, sold separately, when playing.
