Nerf Rival Atlas XVI-1200 Team Blue Review (Hasbro)

Nerf Rival Atlas XVI-1200 Team Blue
What It Is

Get even more firepower from the Nerf Rival line of blasters with the Nerf Rival Atlas XVI-1200 Team Red and Team Blue blasters, sold separately. The Nerf Rival line is all about Team Red versus Team Blue, hence the two different colors of blasters, but these blasters use foam balls instead of darts and feature very accurate shooting, ideal for the older blaster enthusiast. It also engages kids in more of a paintball-like blaster battle.

The Atlas XVI-1200 blasters feature a 12-round capacity magazine that fires two foam balls at once. Each pump-action blaster comes with 24 foam balls. Plus, these blasters have an ambidextrous magazine release to make it easy for left-handed and right-handed users, a trigger lock for safety, an iron sight to line up your shots, and a Nerf Tactical Rail so that other accessories, sold separately, can be attached.

To use the blaster, load the magazine and slide the magazine into the blaster until it locks into place. Then press the trigger lock to unlock the trigger. Move the pump handle all the way back and all the way forward to ready the blaster. You'll see that a ready indicator will appear to let you know that the blaster is ready to fire. It won't fire if the ready indicator is not visible. When you and the blaster are ready to fire, take aim and pull the trigger. Move the pump back and forward again, and then pull the trigger to fire another shot.

Is It Fun?
Traditional Nerf blasters are all about power and distance, and you still get distance with the Nerf Rival blasters, but the play is more like paintball where you're trying to hit your opponents with the balls. This will engage kids and adults in lots of competitive fun as they run all over the backyard. Plus, blaster battlers will like that the Atlas XVI-1200 gives them double the chance to hit their opponents from just one shot thanks to its dual-firing action.
Who It’s For
The Nerf Rival Atlas XVI-1200 Team Blue is for ages 14 and up. While younger kids may also enjoy this blaster, the competition of Nerf Rival is all about blasting one another, so it may not be appropriate for younger kids.
What To Be Aware Of

The pump handle can be difficult to pump back and forth. Even when you think you have it pulled all the way back, you've still got farther to pull in order to make it go back forward. It took us several tries to figure this out, and we suspect that kids will also experience this same frustration.

Only use Nerf Rival products with this blaster.

When playing, it's recommended that you wear Nerf Rival face masks, sold separately.
