OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is

Now you don't have to travel to a Build-A-Bear Workshop store to build your own stuffed animal. The Build-A-Bear Workshop Stuffing Station brings the stuffed animal creation to kids right at home. Just like at the store, kids choose a bear, attach it to the Stuffing Station, turn the handle to stuff the bear, and then dress it up in fun Build-A-Bear clothing. Kids can also write a secret wish inside one of the heart-shaped lockets and put that inside their bear before closing it up. And when the bear is complete, fill out a birth certificate for the bear.

The kit comes with a Stuffing Station, two eight-inch Furry Friends, two T-shirts, two birth certificates, two hearts, 22 paper accessories, two bags of stuffing, and instructions.

Is It Fun?
The stuffing process is not as fast as what you get when you go to a Build-A-Bear Workshop store, but that's okay. Unlike at the store where an employee uses the stuffing machine to stuff your bear, this kit allows kids to be hands-on and stuff the bear themselves. It's a fun way to recreate the store experience for kids who are Build-A-Bear fans, but it also brings the experience to kids who don't have a Build-A-Bear Workshop near where they live.
Who It’s For
The Build-A-Bear Workshop Stuffing Station is for ages 4 and up. It will be a fun activity for kids who like Build-A-Bear Workshop because they get to build their own bear right at home, and it will also be a nice activity for kids who don't get to experience Build-A-Bear Workshop because they don't live near a store.
What To Be Aware Of

While this is designed to be easy for kids to do, adult assistance will probably be needed.

Sometimes while turning the handle, the spinning mechanism would jam, and we had to reach in with our hands and remove some of the stuck stuffing in order to keep the mechanism spinning. And toward the end, we just added stuffing to our bear by hand to finish it off. You'll also need a paperclip to help zip up your finished bear.

Additional clothing and accessories are sold separately.
