Kids can play and learn in three ways with the Touch & Learn Activity Desk Deluxe. There's an interactive desktop that comes with five activity cards that have different touchpoints for kids to explore. As kids play, the LED display illustrates letter and number stroke order, how to draw basic shapes, and other animations.
In activity mode, kids can insert any of the five cards and touch any of the objects on the page to explore. Activity card content focuses on alphabet and letter sounds, the human body, music, fruits and colors, and numbers and counting. Each page has mode icons in the upper right area that play additional activities, such as songs and games.
Switch to music mode and the music player will play 11 popular music and 10 classical music melodies one by one. You can change the song by using the controls on the music player. You won't be able to access the activity card features in this mode, but that means that kids could place a book or a piece of paper on the desktop and read or color while they listen to music.
The toy telephone on the desk works in both modes. Press any of the number buttons to hear the number said out loud, or switch the phone to one of its two modes. In Learn It mode, touch the number buttons to hear numbers, count, and practice number order, and then test your knowledge by answering questions. In Call a Friend mode, press the correct number buttons to meet some new friends.
For more play, transform the desk into an easel and chalkboard with space for storing art supplies. And the desk comes with a stool to give kids a comfy place to sit while they play.
You can also expand the content with eight expansion packs, sold separately, that focus on reading skills, animals, and more.
Adult assembly of the desk and stool is required, but it shouldn't take you too long to put together. The instructions are easy to follow.
You'll need four AA batteries, which are not included.
Chalk and an eraser for the chalkboard are not included.
This is an updated version of the original Touch & Learn Activity Desk.
Expansion packs for the Touch & Learn Activity Desk Deluxe are sold separately and retail for about $9.99. Each pack provides up to 26 activities with up to 180 touchpoints for kids to explore.
