My Password Journal, an electronic case that holds a small 24-page paper journal, allows kids to set up their own voice-activated password, and custom intruder alert. When someone attempts to mimic the password, the journal records it to play it back later, and catch the culprit. We found the recording easy to do using the included instructions. This set also includes an invisible ink pen and dual black light to reveal the writing, or use as a reading light. Another fun feature is the 25 thought starters that provide ideas of what to write about like happiest moment, or favorite book. There's also room to record 10 personal ideas of your own. A secret compartment is located under the journal for storing notes, trinkets, even money.
The secrecy factor will appeal to many young girls. It's also a fun way to inspire creative writing, though the included paper notebook is on the small side with only 24 pages.
This password-protected journal set is for kids ages 6 and up. Since the notebook is small, it's a better option for young girls who are more into secrecy than writing long diary entries.
We found the recording simple to do using the included instructions. It may look complicated at first but once the child knows what each of the buttons are for, it's easy. Three AA batteries are required but not included.
