EDITOR'S REVIEW
OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is
The RipSurf from Razor is a uniquely designed skateboard with two caster wheels and deck that will give riders the feel of surfing, but on land. The deck features a unique dual-surface texture. On the front portion is an integrated wax-bump texture. On the back it features textured foam, non-slip traction. The positioning of the caster wheels on the base of the deck coupled with its patent one-piece torsion technology help riders mimic how they distribute their weight and lean when riding waves. Now for those riders that are familiar with Razor's RipStik, this is basically the follow-up but with a larger surface to stand on. That said, it does require a fair amount of balance to get started. So kind of like riding a bike without the training wheels, you may want some assistance the first few times, and be prepared to fall-- make sure you've got you're proper riding safety gear on for this one. The RipSurf is from Razor and it's for ages 8 and up. It holds a maximum weight of 220 pounds.
Is It Fun?
There has always been a lot of great cross-over between the world of surfing and skateboarding, but this new board takes that a step further. For those familiar with Razor's RipStik, this is the follow-up but with a larger surface to stand on and new torsion technology. That said, it does require a fair amount of balance to get started. So like riding a bike without the training wheels, you may want some assistance the first few times, and be prepared to fall.
Who It’s For
The RipSurf is for ages 8 and up. It holds a maximum weight of 220 pounds. It is best suited for those with previous skateboarding and/or surfing experience because it does require more core strength and stability.
What To Be Aware Of
