What It Is
Kids can take to the road in their very own racecar with the Kettcar Melbourne. This ride-on is kid-powered, not battery-powered. That's because it has pedals that kids pump with their legs, so they ride the Kettcar Melbourne more like a bike than a traditional battery-powered car ride-on. Kids simply pedal to set the car in motion, going as fast as they can pedal, and then pull the handbrake to stop. Kids can even switch the shifter to go from drive mode to coasting mode. The car itself has a steel tubing frame with a scratch-resistant polyester coating, and a molded seat that can be adjusted to three different positions without the use of tools. It also has synthetic MaxXTread wheels for good handling while kids drive. And for a cool racing look, there is a racing stripe running down the front of the Kettcar, and a big number one printed on the front.
Is It Fun?
This is going to be a lot of fun for kids to ride around on outside. It's easy to steer, and kids can go as fast as their little legs can take them. Plus, with an adjustable seat, it's something that will grow with kids, so you're bound to get use out of this pedal car for a few summers in a row. And it doesn't run on batteries, so you don't have to spend time waiting for it charge before you use it. Just hop on, start pedaling, and you're off! For kids who want nothing more than to get behind the wheel of their very own racecar, this pedal car is a fun option for active, outdoor play in your driveway or down a sidewalk.
Who It’s For
The Kettcar Melbourne is for ages 3–6 with a 110-pound weight limit. It will be a lot of fun for kids who will like having their own cool-looking racecar.
What To Be Aware Of
Assembly is required, and it took us about 15 minutes to put together. We didn't think the instructions were very clear, so 15 minutes might be the minimum amount of time you'll need to set aside for this one, although it could take you longer.
When kids are riding, they should always have adult supervision.
