EDITOR'S REVIEW
OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is

If you're a fan of the original SET game, then you'll like the new SET Mini Round game. This game of visual perception is a quicker and easier version of the original game that is easy to throw in a purse, backpack, or pocket for playing wherever you go. Like in the original game, you want to find the most SETs. A SET is three cards that are either all the same or all different in each individual feature. The game has 27 unique cards with three features: color, shape, and number. So, for instance, if you have cards with one red diamond, two red diamonds, and three red diamonds on them, that's a SET because the color is all the same, the shape is all the same, and the number is all different.

To play, lay 12 cards face up in a rectangle so that all players can see them. All players simultaneously scan the cards for SETs. If you find one, call out “SET”, and pick up those cards, provided that the SET is correct. If a SET is incorrect, you lose one point. As cards are picked up, replace them with new cards from the deck, and continue playing until the deck is depleted. The number of SETs held by each player is counted, and the player with the most SETs wins.

The game comes with 27 cards and instructions packaged in a circular tin. It can be played by one or more players.

Is It Fun?
While it might take you a few rounds to get the hang of finding the SETs, once you do get the hang of it, you'll find that this is a fun and fast-paced test of your visual skills. It's easy to set up and play just about anywhere, and it's a game that the whole family can play together. Or play it solo to practice your skills so you're ready to beat friends and family the next time you play together.
