OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is

Doona from Simple Parenting is a car seat and stroller in one. This is completely different from the standard travel systems that are currently on the market. In this case, the car seat is the stroller. The wheels are integrated into the car seat and can flip from being a car seat to a stroller and back as the wheels simply tuck under the car seat and then flip out again. The handle then slides up into stroller mode and moves back down for carrying baby in car seat mode. This comes with a LATCH-system base for the car seat to be used inside of a vehicle. This is also aircraft approved for the U.S. and Europe. The seat has an infant insert and five-point harness. Safety measures are in place to prevent accidental unfolding/folding of the stroller and handle bar. Large white buttons make it easy to see where all of these transitions safely occur. The unit weighs 16 pounds without the base. This is available in seven colors.

What To Be Aware Of

Doona is a rear-facing infant car seat for use with babies from 4–35 pounds and up to 32-inches tall. Babies transition out of a rear-facing car seat at age 2. They usually sit front facing in a stroller when they can sit up on their own, perhaps around 6 months old.

This is approved for use on an airplane in the U.S. and Europe. Check with your airline before brining on board.
