OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is
Chicco NextFit Zip Air Convertible Car Seat offers new 3D AirMesh Technical Performance Fabric that creates airflow channels to maximize ventilation throughout the backrest where baby needs it most. The seat pad zips out from the shell for convenient machine washing. Chicco's exclusive ReclineSure nine-position leveling system provides the most recline options to accommodate a wider range of vehicles, and the SuperCinch LATCH tightener makes it easy to secure baby. Bubble levels accurately indicate correct seat angle in both rear-facing and forward-facing modes. When baby is ready to move to forward-facing, an integrated slide path makes it easy to reposition the LATCH strap without rethreading. This seat is for use with children from 5-40 pounds in rear-facing mode and from 22-65 pounds in forward-facing mode. An infant insert is included for babies 5–11 pounds. This seat includes a thermal insulated cup holder.
Why Is It Useful?
The 3D AirMesh seat and the zip-and-wash option for the seat pad are two big improvements to this Chicco car seat. Parents will also like that this transitions easily from rear-facing to front-facing mode when baby is ready. The thermal insulated cup holder is also a nice touch. However, this is a large seat and the person riding in the front passenger seat may not have enough legroom with this car seat behind them.

What To Be Aware Of

This seat is for use with children from 5-40 pounds in rear-facing mode and from 22-65 pounds in forward-facing mode. An infant insert is included for babies 5–11 pounds.

This is a large car seat and the person riding in the front passenger seat may not have enough legroom with this car seat behind them. However, that is not uncommon given the size of many car seats.
