OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is

Get techy and creative just like the girls on the Netflix series Project MC2 with the Project MC2 Circuit Beats kit. With this kit, kids can complete a circuit to make a banana piano and more. It comes with a circuit board controller, seven wires with clips, a sticker sheet to add decorations, and a cat-ear speaker headband. You'll need to provide bananas to complete the circuit and start playing. First, put on the speaker headphones and connect one end of the wires to the circuit board controller and the other end to your bananas. Then choose a sound: piano, guitar, drums, cat, or record your own. Clip the ground wire to your index finger, and use the index finger on your other hand to tap the objects to play music. The sound will play from the headband speakers. You can connect the wires to other moisture-holding objects, too, such as a flower in water, a friend's arm, an orange slice, a strawberry, or ice cream.

Is It Fun?

Following the curriculum of the Project MC2 show, this kit is designed to cover the science, technology, and art part of the STEAM acronym. So, aside from being a cool and amusing way to make music with bananas, it's also a hands-on way to understand scientific concepts and get creative. Plus, who doesn't like the opportunity to play with your food?

Who It’s For
The Project MC2 Circuit Beats kit is for ages 6 and up. It will appeal to kids with an interest in science and tech, as well as to fans of the Project MC2 show.
What To Be Aware Of

The kit includes three AAA batteries for the in-store try-me features. It's recommended that you replace them before you play for best results.

It took us five minutes to get everything set up, but keep in mind, you'll need items not included in this kit to complete set-up and begin playing.

If you don't hear music playing, you might need to wet the area under the clip to add more moisture to your bananas or whatever object you're using. This happened to us, and we dipped the tips of our bananas into a cup of water before clipping them, and it worked!

It's recommended that you cover your play area to avoid possible damage from food spillage.
