Barbie Fashionistas Doll with Down Syndrome Review

All children can see themselves in Barbie through the Barbie Fashionistas doll line, which expands this year with the first-ever Barbie with Down Syndrome. Created in collaboration with the National Down Syndrome Society, the doll’s physical features, outfit, and accessories reflect what it’s like to live with this condition. The blonde-haired doll wears a pink pendant necklace with three arrows to represent the third 21st chromosome that individuals with Down Syndrome have. These arrows point outwards to represent rising up and moving forward. The doll also wears pink ankle foot orthoses to support her as she walks. They’re attached to her white sneakers, which can easily be removed. The doll wears a floral print, puff-sleeve dress with a blue and yellow color scheme, representing the colors of Down Syndrome Awareness. The dress also has butterflies on it, which are a symbol of Down Syndrome.
