Nerf Zombie Strike Crosscut Review (Hasbro)

Nerf Zombie Strike Crosscut
What It Is

The NERF Zombie Strike Crosscut is awesome two-in-one blaster that should stop any brain-starved zombie in its path. Or a little brother. First, you immobilize them with the Zombie Strike Nerf dart. Then, battle up close with a spinning buzzsaw blade. No zombie stands a chance. The blaster comes with four standard-sized Nerf darts that fit into the double-barrel blaster. Pull back and fire for each shot. Operate the spinning saw blade with a separate trigger for up-closed battling.

Is It Fun?

Obviously, this is for fantasy play, but the idea of being able to attack zombies with a spinning saw blade is really kind of hysterical...particularly as it is all soft NERF material. This is classic power and conflict play as kids imagine all kinds of scenarios with Zombies or other make-believe adversaries. This is great for active, creative play on the go.

Who It’s For

The Crosscut is designed for kids ages 8 and up. It will appeal to kids who love action/adventure play as they make up stories where they are, of course, the heroes.

What To Be Aware Of

Lightweight design and excellent balance make this easy to fire with one hand.

Pull back cocking mechanism has to be activated before each shot.

Slow and steady pressure on the saw blade trigger seems to work best to keep the blade spinning.

Obviously, the soft foam won't create damage, but the blade will stop spinning when it hits something.

Zombies don't really exist.
