The Evenflo Platinum SafeMax All-in-One Car Seat is a car seat with three modes to grow with baby. It works as a rear-facing car infant seat, forward-facing car seat for toddlers, and a booster seat for when your child reaches age 4. The car seat features an integrated steel frame and SafeZone headrest, which are designed to absorb and disperse crash forces. Its Outlast Technology fabric helps to regulate baby's temperature to keep them comfortable no matter the season. Additional features include a harness protection system to limit head excursion and the SureSafe Quick Connector LATCH and guides ensure proper car seat installation. Parents can also adjust the harness and recline of the car seat with a upfront feature.
This car seat offers a lot of bang for your buck as it grows with your child. We like that the car seat keeps your child's comfort in mind as he/she grows without sacrificing any safety features as they age up. This is roll-over crash tested by Evenflo. It is FAA approved for air travel.
The seat is designed to carry your child from birth up to harness booster mode (up to 120 pounds). As a rear-facing car seat, it should be used when your child is 5-40 pounds. As a forward-facing car seat, it should be used when your weighs 22-65 pounds. Children should stay rear facing until age 2. And in booster mode, it should be used when your child is 4 and up, between 40-120 pounds.
This is the first roll-over-tested car seat as tested by Evenflo. The car seat weighs nearly 24 pounds. It is a large seat and it may take up a lot of space, especially if used in smaller vehicles.
