OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is

The Kaia Compact Stroller from Maxi-Cosi is a standard stroller that functions as an umbrella stroller. Most notable about this stroller is the reversible printed fabric seat created by famed industrial and textile designer Edward Van Vilet. While this stroller meets all the fashionable requirements, let's talk about function. This stroller can be used as a standard stroller and it's fairly compact but it also functions as an umbrella stroller for when you are on the go with baby. A travel system attachment allows you to use the Maxi-Cosi infant car seat with this stroller right from birth making this totally travel-system ready. The seat of this stroller reclines to multiple positions with a simple latch system. The leg rest adjusts to fit your growing child. The seat is cushy and padded for comfort with a five-point harness for safety. Storage under the seat of the stroller is convenient and can be accessed primarily through the front. Brake and release foot pedals are helpful and will not scuff shoes. The overall fold is easy allowing the stroller to stand while folded. A cup holder is included. While all these are helpful features, some features fell short. The sun shade is not very generous especially since this is a standard stroller and most likely a primary stroller, the under-the-seat storage is a bit challenging to access and, when folded, this stroller is not as lightweight as you would expect a compact stroller to be. However, it is totally manageable as you carry baby in one arm and stroller in the other navigating mass transit. This moves like an umbrella stroller because you definitely feel the bumps of the cobblestoned street or a bumpy path. Overall, the design and feel of this stroller is subpar compared to the price point. However, for the fashion-forward parent who is a fan of the designer, this Kaia Compact Stroller by Edward Van Vilet might be a good fit.

Is It Fun?

This compact stroller hardly takes up any space when folded making this ideal for travel or city living. This stroller is travel-system ready when using the attachments for an infant car seat.

Who It’s For
