Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Review (Nintendo)

Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer
What It Is

Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer from Nintendo is a spin-off game in the Animal Crossing series. In the game, players design and decorate homes and buildings for the Animal Crossing villagers. Villagers explain the style they want and usually leave a few items that must be used in the room. The player then gets to be as creative as they want with the design, and selects every object that will go into the room. Objects are located in category tabs, which include multiple options for each item. Sometimes the villager asks for multiple rooms, outdoor spaces, and building exteriors to be designed. Every time a room is completed, new items are added to the tabs that give players even more opportunities for creativity in the next design.

Is It Fun?

Happy Home Designer is all about being creative and designing whatever you want for the villagers. There's no winning or losing in this game, and the villagers will be happy as long as their objects are used in the room.

Who It’s For

The game is rated E for everyone, and it is great for casual game fans of all ages. We think gamers into sim games and world-building games, that are looking for something simple, will enjoy this one, whether they have ever played an Animal Crossing game or not.

What To Be Aware Of

The game supports amiibo cards that unlock new villagers with rooms that need to be designed. Just tap a card to the 3DS to unlock the character. The game comes with one card and additional cards are sold separately in packs. New Nintendo 3DS systems already have the ability to read the cards, but basic 3DS and 2DS systems will need an NFC Reader adapter, which is sold separately.
