OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is

If you like the game Catchphrase and you like Star Wars, combine your likes with the new Star Wars Catchphrase game. It plays like regular Catchphrase but with some fun Star Wars-themed features, such as words and phrases that relate to the Star Wars universe, a handheld electronic game unit that looks like the Millennium Falcon, and two difficulty levels: apprentice (or easy) and Jedi Master (or more challenging).

To play, divide into two teams of as many players as you want. A player on Team 1 starts the 60-second timer and must get his team to guess the word on the screen. Of course, there are things you can't say in order to get your team to guess, including saying a word that rhymes with the word, giving the first letter of the word, and saying a part of the word. If the team guesses correctly, the player holding the unit passes it to a member of Team 2. Then the Team 2 player presses the “next” button and must get his team to guess the next word on the screen. And so on in that same fashion. The round ends when you hear Chewbacca roar and the timer runs out. The team not holding the unit gets one point. That team can also go for an extra point if they can guess the word the losing team couldn't get. To enter points, press the appropriate “team” button once if that team wasn't holding the unit, and press that team's button again if the team got the extra point. The first team to seven points wins.

Is It Fun?
This is going to be a fun and fast-paced game for people who like the original Catchphrase and all things Star Wars. The Chewbacca sound effect is a nice touch, and you'll also hear other familiar sounds as you press the other buttons during gameplay.
