EDITOR'S REVIEW
OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is

The Bento Speaker plays music from your smartphone or MP3 player without the use of Bluetooth or cords. If you have a device with a built-in speaker, just start the music playing on your device, and then place it on top of the Bento to hear the music amplified through it. Control the volume or change the song on your device as you normally would.

How does it work? Well, beneath the top surface of the Bento speaker are electromagnetic induction sensors that capture the unique magnetic waves as music is played on your phone. You get an immersive 360-degree audio experience thanks to the speaker's audio cone defector.

The Bento Speaker comes with a USB cable for charging and a line-in cable if you want to hook up an external music device that doesn't have a built-in speaker to the Bento. The Bento is available in red and black or white and emerald green.

Is It Fun?

The Bento has a very cool design that makes the speaker something you could keep out on display even when not playing music. The sound quality is great, and you can start playing music through the Bento in just seconds instead of waiting for the Bluetooth connection or fumbling with tangled-up cords.

Who It’s For

Because this is not a toy, it's not age-graded. But we think the ease of use and great quality make it best for music lovers ages 8 and up.

What To Be Aware Of

The Bento Speaker runs on a rechargeable lithium ion battery. Use the included USB cable to charge it. It takes three hours for a full charge, and that gives you around six hours of playtime.
