OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is

Silly McGilly is a clever book-and-toy set that tells the story of this mischievous leprechaun and invites kids to partake in St. Patrick's Day activities. Created to add some St. Patrick's Day fun in the classroom and at home, Silly McGilly's only purpose in life is to play silly and clever tricks while little ones sleep.

And while other leprechauns might like to play grander tricks, Silly McGilly prefers little tricks that cause giggles and delight. By leaving the 8-inch tall stuffed version of Silly McGilly by their window at night, kids also give the green light to the real Silly McGilly to come visit and play silly tricks as they sleep. Silly McGilly will play tricks up to the eve of St. Patrick's Day when he must return home to celebrate. Tricks featured on the pages include turning photos on the wall upside down or changing name tags to Irish sounding names such as O'Laurie or McChris.

Parents and teachers can also visit the back of the book for ideas to play your own tricks. Kids can also cut out the sign at the back of the book to let everyone know that your home or classroom is a spot that Silly McGilly visits.

Is It Fun?

You don't have to be Irish to celebrate St. Patrick's Day and all its traditions, and this toy/book combo does a great job of engaging all kids in the fun of the holiday. Kids will love waking up or walking into their classrooms each day leading up to St. Patrick's Day and seeing what mischief Silly McGilly has gotten into each time.

Who It’s For

Silly McGilly is geared toward kids ages 3-9, but can easily be tailored for anyone looking to get into the St. Patrick's Day spirit.
