Faux Glass Review (Faux World LLC)

Faux Glass
What It Is

The Faux Glass an ingeniously hilarious novelty item that kids and adults alike will get a kick out of. And while Google may have gone back to the drawing board on its $1,500 Google Glass, the $20 Faux glass is sure to amuse, entertain...and annoy. Perhaps even more than it's more pricey inspiration.

Pop this on your head, and...that's it. You'll look like a super geek, and it does...well almost nothing. You've got lights that flash on the side and a spotlight and an itty bitty magnifying glass. That's it. And, if like me, your left eye is dominant, you won't be able to see through the magnifying glass. But...who cares? For 20 bucks, this is all about the gag. In fact, the company has a whole bunch of plays on the word "faux," that go along with this, as well as trying to start a whole "faux" world. You can just imagine.

Is It Fun?

Never underestimate the power of the prank. While the Google Glass was getting so much buzz in the past year, this is pure, ironic silliness. When we wore it out, we had people get all bent out of shape with us because they thought we were recording them, only to ask us where they could get one, too when the joke was revealed. It's all in good fun.

Who It’s For

This is for kids ages 8 and up, but it's for anyone who wants to play a geeky practical joke. Or who thinks they'd look really cool. Yeah, like from yards away so people couldn't tell this is an obvious fake.

What To Be Aware Of

The cell batteries are included.

If you do get this and you wear it out, be aware that people get really sensitive if they think they're being recorded.
