OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is

The Disney Frozen Olaf Snow Cone Maker looks just like the snowman character from the movie Frozen and lets kids makes snow cones. The Olaf-shaped snow cone maker comes with a spoon, a molded cup, a syrup bottle with cap, and two flavor mixes in strawberry and raspberry flavors.

To make the flavoring, mix one teaspoon of the flavor mix into the syrup bottle and fill the bottle with water. Shake it to mix. Each bottle is enough for four snow cones.

To make the snow cones, remove the Olaf head plunger from the snow cone maker and drop one ice cube down the chute. Without applying pressure on the plunger, turn the ice shaver handle clockwise five times. Then, gently apply pressure to the plunger while continuing to turn the ice shaver handle until the ice cube has been completely shaved. Repeat with additional ice cubes until you have enough shavings in the cup to make a snow cone. Squeeze the syrup bottle to add flavoring to your ice shavings, and then eat.

Is It Fun?

While kids will like eating the snow cones, which taste like traditionally sweet snow cones, they might not enjoy the long process of making the snow cones. In fact, mom or dad will probably end up being the ones to create the shaved ice because it takes a bit of arm strength to put pressure on the plunger and turn the ice shaver handle. One ice cube barely fills up the snow cone cup, and while you're shaving the second, third, and fourth ice cubes, the shavings in the cup start to melt. There will be a lot of going back and forth between the Olaf Snow Cone Maker and your freezer as you try to keep your ice shavings intact while also adding in new ice shavings every couple of minutes. Don't let the pictures or the caption "Frozen treats in minutes!" on the box fool you.
