Formula-Mixing Baby Bottle Review (Mixie)

Formula-Mixing Baby Bottle
What It Is

The Formula-Mixing Baby Bottle is a BPA-, phthlate-, and PVC-free wide-neck bottle that can be filled with formula and water ahead of time and then mixed right before it's time to feed. To use the Mixie, fill the formula compartment, cover the compartment with the airtight seal, reassemble the components, and then tightly screw the bottom ring back on. The eight-ounce Mixie holds up to four scoops of formula, which is what you would likely use for a regular eight-ounce bottle. Next add the water to the bottle. You can then carry this with you or leave it on your counter for when you're ready to feed. When it's time to feed, simply push the clear button on the bottle bottom to release the powder. The airtight compartment lid will fly off and be free floating in the water, so don't think it's broken when that happens. According to the manufacturer, that actually helps mix the formula thoroughly. Shake the bottle until the formula is well blended with the water, and you're ready to feed.

Why Is It Useful?

The Mixie may be more expensive than other bottles on the market, but many parents will think the convenience is worth it. If you're a formula-feeding parent, then you know how stressful it can be to have to make a bottle when your baby is hungry and crying or in the middle of the night when you're too tired to think straight. This is both effective and saves time whether you're traveling or using it at home.

Who It’s For

The eight-ounce Formula-Mixing Baby Bottle is for ages 3 months and up.

What To Be Aware Of

We want to reiterate that you should tighten the bottom ring really well to avoid leaks.

The bottle comes completely apart for easy cleaning and is both dishwasher- and microwave-safe.

Like most bottles, the nipples should be replaced every three months for proper sanitation. It's also compatible with nipples from other major brands so you should check the manufacturer's website if you're interested in using this product but are afraid your baby is already used to a different brand.

A four-ounce Formula-Mixing Baby Bottle is also available.
