Trivial Pursuit Hints is a fast-paced handheld way to play the classic game of Trivial Pursuit. You'll need two teams of players, with at least two players on each team. The object is to be the team with the highest score after each team has played three rounds. On your team's turn, correctly guess as many answers as you can in two minutes using the fewest hints. There are 3,000 trivia hints built into the game.
When you start, the handheld unit will show you a category and then the first hint, which is worth six points and the hardest hint. If you don't know the answer, press the "next" button for the second hint, which is worth three points. If you still don't know the answer, press the "next" button for the third and final hint, which is only worth one point. If after three hints, you just don't know the answer, press "next" to move on to the next category of hints. You won't lose points for that.
Of course, any time during play, you can choose to guess the answer by hitting the "guess" button. The answer will appear on the screen. If you're correct, hit the "correct" button to record your points and move on to the next category. If you're wrong, hit the "wrong" button. You won't lose points for that; you'll simply move on to the next category.
When time runs out, the handheld unit will display the current score for both teams. The second team starts their turn by pressing "next". After each team plays three rounds, the team with the highest score wins. Because the handheld unit keeps track of points and the number of hints used per team, if there is a tie score, the winner will be the team that used the fewest hints.
We like that this version of Trivial Pursuit is easy to play and faster than the original, turning it into more of a party game. The handheld unit makes it easy to play at home or on the go.
