The Grow 'n Glow Terrarium kit lets kids grow plants inside a plastic mason-style jar. The kit comes with a plastic jar, potting mix, organic wheatgrass seeds, organic chia seeds, river stones, decorative sand, resin figures, clear stickers, glow-in-the-dark stickers, a plant mister, and instructions. Kids just layer the potting mix, sand, and stones in the jar as shown in the instructions. Then, kids can add the decorative figures and a few of the seeds. Put the lid on the jar and decorate the outside of the jar with the stickers. In most cases, your garden will begin to sprout in three to four days. For best results, keep your terrarium in a warm, sunny place and keep the soil damp. As the plants grow, you can replant them in a larger container or outside.
This is a very easy-to-do activity kit, and best of all, it actually works. We had success growing our seeds after just a few days, and it's going to be really cool for kids to see their seeds grow. This is a nice way to develop kids' green thumbs.
The Grow 'n Glow Terrarium is for ages 6 and up.
It took us 21 minutes to get our terrarium set up.
For the best glow-in-the-dark effect, shine a bright light at the glowing stickers for a few minutes before turning off the lights.
