With more than 30 different diaper brands to choose from, how do parents pick the one—or ones—that are right for them? TTPM assembled a panel of families to try out 10 brands of diapers and rate them on 6 performance categories...without respect to price. Over the course of 30 days, more than 5,000 diapers got a real-world try out. And here's how they all stacked up.
Panelists rated the diapers on a scale of 1-5 with 1 being worst and 5 being the best. Average scores are listed below.
Check out what our panelists had to say:
There is no odor control when number 2 happens. With number 1 it's fine, better than other brands. Thank goodness they don’t do number 3...”
--Odor Control/Pampers Cruisers
"The absorbency on these diapers was great. They kept the baby dry and you could tell by the weight of each diaper after the baby peed that the diaper was really holding it all in."
"This diaper was just as good as my normal brand. I would use this brand as it is at a good price point too! I am going to start buying on a consistent basis."
--Overall Performance/Up&Up (Target)
"She slept for a solid 10 hours, flipping and flopping all over the place. Diaper moved with my daughter who is a very active toddler."
--Fit & Flexibility/Seventh Generation
"This is the first time I tried this brand, and it is my second child. After trying very many diapers, I'd say that Parent's Choice is one of the best, judging by how comfortable my baby looked in them. Surprisingly, they did not constrict her movement, yet they were tight."
--Overall Performance/Parent's Choice (Wal-Mart)
"Baby did not like these diapers possibly because they were so stiff. While they could have been comfortable for him, they didn't look very comfortable to me. Primarily because of the material of the diaper."
