Little ones will love having a playdate with the Little People inside the Little People 1-2-3 Babies Playdate. The style of this is reminiscent of a baby play gym, with a safety pin handle at the top, a fold-down fabric play mat on one side, and a fold-down plastic play area on the other. (This also means that it folds up for easy storage.) You get three Little People baby figures to care for inside this nursery playset. The fabric playmat is printed with images of classic Fisher-Price toys, as well as a playpen, star-shaped rug, and teddy bear chair. But the playset does come with physical accessories, such as a feeding table with space for all three figures, a rocking horse, a cradle with three beds that rocks when you press the button, and an outdoor play area with sandbox and slide. Open the baby bottle door to go in and out. Turn the blender to mix up pretend treats for the babies, and use the spoon to feed them.

While there’s a lot of opportunity for imaginative play and nurturing roleplay on its own, the Babies Playdate set does have lights and more than 50 songs, sounds, and phrases when kids open and close the door, press the button, or spin the blender. The happy face cloud lights up whenever these sounds are activated.

There are three Smart Stages modes. The first mode is Discover, which introduces the youngest kids to colors, numbers, shapes, and more. The second mode is Experience, which adds to the learning content with phrases and songs about playtime, feeding, and naps to guide toddlers in their imaginative play. And in the third mode, Imagine, preschoolers will hear sounds and instrumental music that create a nice background for their own imaginative play.

Should I get it?

This playset is super cute with lots of room for kids to play and explore as they engage in nurturing roleplay with the baby figures. It’s a great playset on its own, but the lights and sounds really enhance the play and provide educational content as kids play. We like that the three different modes change up the content as kids grow.
