What It Is

The Flutterbye Surprise Butterfly Diary is classic play with a little bit of magic. It's a diary with a pen and secret storage for private secrets behind the back cover. But the magic happens when you pull the string, open the front cover, and a butterfly fairy flutters out. It's very easy to do. Simply rest the butterfly in the cut-out on the diary making sure that the feet fit in the winding mechanism. Close the cover and pull the string until it stops. Open the cover and the butterfly flies away.

Is It Fun?

This is simple and enchanting and something we think kids will get a kick out of doing again and again. We really like the simple magic of this and the creativity that's been built in as well as the play this will inspire.

Who It’s For

The Flutterbye Surprise Butterfly Diary is for ages 5 and up.

What To Be Aware Of

The butterfly is rubber band-powered and connects easily to the back of the fairy. If your fairy stops flying as high or it doesn't wind enough, that's your indication that the rubber band has stretched out. Simply replace it with one of the two included extra bands, and you're back in business.
