Overall Editor's Rating

What It Is

Bully, a large, onerous bull, doesn't have a kind word for any of his peers. When other smaller animals invite him to play, he responds with "Chicken!", "Slow poke!", "You stink!", and the animals turn away dejectedly. But finally, they get the courage to stand up to Bully, he turns his attitude around and there's a happy ending.

Is It Fun?

This book has very few words, but bold, colorful illustrations effectively get the message across. For example, as Bully gets meaner, he gets bigger in size. Bully would be a powerful conversation tool for home or in the classroom, and adults can use the absence of words to prompt children to think of creative solutions on their own.

Who It’s For

Bully is appropriate for ages three and up.

What To Be Aware Of

Bully is available in hardcover and e-book.
