Cut the Rope 2 from ZeptoLab is the first true sequel to the original, and hugely successful, Cut the Rope mobile game. The game's star, Om Nom (a green, candy-eating monster) is back with a new story, but he still just wants to eat candy.
The object of the game is to use physics to get a piece of candy from its starting point – suspended from a rope – to Om Nom. You do that by cutting the rope that holds the candy, but each level presents a different challenge for how you get the candy to fall into Om Nom's mouth.
The game comes with five unique areas with 20 levels in each area. Each of the areas introduces a new character into the game that you can use to help get the candy to Om Nom. In the first area, "Forest", the character is Roto, a little dude with big eyes and a propeller on his head, who can carry Om Nom or the candy through the air. The second area is the "Sandy Dam", where the character Lick helps by making bridges with it's tongue. Area 3, "Junkyard", introduces Blue who multiplies to give Om Nom a lift. The fourth area is "City Park" where Toss throws Om Nom and other objects. The final area is "Underground", where Boo scares Om Nom to jump.
In addition to the candy goal, each level has three stars that you can try to reach with the candy piece or Om Nom. Getting the stars can sometimes be more difficult than the candy so there are a few bonus items on each level that help if you are having problems. Those items include balloons that can float Om Nom and a firefly that will show you how to get all three stars.
Fans of the game will enjoy the new challenges and the continued interaction with an established game.
This is a great game for fans of the first Cut the Rope game and anyone else, ages 4 and up, whom has never played the game but likes casual and mobile games.
The game starts you off with a few of the bonus balloon and firefly items. Once these have been used, you will have to buy new ones using real money.
You will need to be connected to the Internet to download the game but do not need to be online to play, unless you want to buy an item during the game.
The game is currently available for Apple iOS devices and an Android version should be out soon.
