What It Is
In the game 20 Express, each player has a train of 20 cars to fill with numbers. The goal is to create the longest ascending series possible. The game can be played with one or more players. Each player gets a game sheet and pencil, and one player is in charge of drawing tiles from the bag. The designated player draws a random tile from the bag and places it face up on the table. All players write this number in any empty train car on their game sheets. Use your best judgment when deciding where the number should go. Numbers should ascend from the left side of the sheet to the right side. So if a low number is drawn, you'll probably want to place it near the left side of the sheet and keep the higher numbers to the right.
The numbers only have to be in lowest to highest order. They do not have to be consecutive. You cannot place identical numbers next to each other. The wild tile can replace any number, but only counts in one series. If you cannot fit the drawn number in your existing series, you'll have to start a new one.
The game ends after the 20th tile has been drawn and each player's train is full. To score points, identify each series of at least two numbers in ascending order that you created on your game sheet. Each series is worth a different number of points depending on its length. Write down the score for each of your series and add up those numbers to get your total score. The player with the highest total score wins.
The game comes with 40 tiles, a score pad, eight pencils, a cotton bag, and illustrated instructions.
