What It Is

Lil' Cogsley is a robot toy designed to teach time, phonics, vocabulary, and more. He's also an alarm clock. This interactive robot comes with five activities that reinforce letters, phonics, words, music, and more. Lil' Cogsley shakes, dances, and responds to kids with funny voices and sounds. The interactive tummy screen includes a spinning dial and working clock with alarm to introduce time concepts.

Is It Fun?

As a robot clock that talks and wiggles around, this toy is pretty good. The phonics game is simple and educational, but the puzzles are hard to see and understand on the screen because the screen is so small. With screens being so vibrant today, something like this is probably not going to hold a kid's attention. There were also no instructions on how to change the clock or set the alarm. After searching online, we discovered that you must go into Game mode and turn the dial through the different games to find a Settings mode, and then you can make the adjustments from there. It's very confusing because there is a Clock button on the toy, but you can't change the clock from there.

Who It’s For

Lil' Cogsley is for ages 2–5.

What To Be Aware Of

Lil' Cogsley includes two AA batteries for in-store try-me purposes, and VTech recommends that you replace them for best results.
